EAP650(Eu) V1 - Lower throughput on tagged VLAN SSIDs
Hello
I've recently acquired 2 EAP650 to deploy and replace another WiFi system.
While testing the configuration I've come to the issue that the SSIDs that are on tagged VLANs have much lower throughput.
SSID with no VLAN tag(ID 1), guest not enabled: ~500Mbps to WAN
SSID with VLAN tag (ID3), guest not enabled: ~140Mbps
Tried both with OFDMA enabled / disabled, issue persisted.
Connection is as follows:
OPNsense (Firewall, Router) - > Port#1 of Switch TL-SG105E (VLAN1 port 1-5 untagged, VLAN 3 port 1 and 5 tagged PVID 1, port 2 untagged PVID 3) -> EAP650 (Switch Port #5)
PC on Port#2 of switch for cross check.
PC connected directly via switch on port#2 throughput is as expected, ~500Mbps.
EAP directly on Router/Firewall, issue persists.
The Omada controller is running on a LXC container.
Could this be a firmware issue? I saw another thread regarding TCP protocol issues on 650/653 and 670 EAPs. Any update in the works that could be shared to test?
Hopefully this is not an hardware issue, because in that case I'd have to return both EAPs.

@s0x Hello,
I'm getting approx 670 Mbps on tagged SSID both upload and download speed on 80 MHz wide channel at 5 GHz 802.11ax at EAP653 with last (1.0.1) firmware.
Do you have latest firmware? Try iperf between your Wi-Fi device and local wired device.

@jrypacek Hi
Yes, it's on latest firmware currently publicly available, 1.0.3 Build 20220316 Rel. 51972.
I did test with both a 2Gbit LAG and Single 1Gbit port from switch to router/firewall. On all the situations the Wi-Fi client was connected to 5GHz, configured for 80Mhz.
SSID with no VLAN TAG (ID: 1), from Wi-Fi client to Wired client:

Sorry that I haven't been informed of an update on the issue yet. But the R&D team confirmed that they would provide a Beta firmware to fix the issue, I'll let you know once the beta firmware is available. Thank you for your great patience!

@Fae Hi
Sorry to bother you so much, any news?
Since reporting the issue I saw that another customer has opened a topic regarding issues with both EAP 670/653.
I also when opening this topic sent a support request via form, but never got any response or information regarding that.
Thank you

Thank you for your query. It takes some time to work out a solution to the issue.
I've pushed the R&D team to make a beta firmware, will keep you informed in this original post once the beta firmware is ready.
Edit: @s0x the beta firmware has been provided in the mentioned post, please have a check. Thanks for your cooperation and patience!
