  @calimansi808

I've tested the beta firmware 5.07 on an AP EAP245v3 and can confirm that I do not see any issues anymore. I've never had any web camera connected but multiple VLAN (5) running over those APs. Using 5.0.6 I could see a lot of dropped packets and all of my Roopie clients running in 2.4GHz clients stopped being able to establish a working HighRes audio stream.

BR,

Sebastian Mangelsen

  @GPB

You are correct.  I've been testing 5.0.7 for the last 10 minutes.  I think this one removed whatever bugs 5.0.6 introduced.  Stable for wifi cameras for me so far!!

If I don't report back, please assume that 5.0.7 is good to go.

Thank you frens.

How come 5.0.7 isn't released yet?

Seems like this maybe the last firmware for the 225/245.

  @johnsnow88 The EAP 245 v3 has recently received a new firmware release (v5.1.0) on the firmware page (https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/download/eap245/v3/#Firmware), although the release note mentions it is "For EAP225 v3 only"...

@Fae the release notes suggest this applies to 225 v3 and that users cannot downgrade the firmware. Why is it we will not be able to downgrade if 5.1.0 is not as reliable as 5.0.5 or has bugs such as with 5.0.6?

  @johnsnow88 TP-Link has since updated the "Release Notes" link to point to a new document which now mentions 245 v3, and removed the line "3. After install this firmware, the EAP will not be able to install lower versions of firmware." (https://static.tp-link.com/upload/firmware/2023/202302/20230215/EAP245%20v3%20Release%20Note.pdf).

@dli417  Seems silly to include that and then remove it without clarification, so then we can roll back firmware? Think I'll stick to 5.0.5 for a little while longer until a few more people update.

Hasve you updated?

Thank you for your valuable feedback. Sorry for any trouble caused. It's confirmed to be a mistake, the firmware is applied to 245 v3 and it can be downgraded. The release note has been updated.

  @johnsnow88 I have updated a 245 v3 to 5.1.0, and have also confirmed it can be downgraded. I had to update to 5.1.0 manually as the Omada Controller did not detect the update.

I agree that things shouldn't just be silently removed or added from a release note - perhaps it can be made clearer by adding a revision history/errata section to release notes that are updated. FYI the 5.1.0 firmware update file on the 245 v3 firmware page has not changed both before and after the release note change.
