Model: EAP245
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 5.0.5 Build 20220216 Rel. 61848

Hi,

yesterday after a firmware update the whole network went down...
The upgrade was a success towards to 5.0.5 Build 20220216 Rel. 61848
The omada version which I'm using is Omada Controller V3.2.16

I'm using Win10 64-bit

I always get the fault message "unable to send the adopt command to AP"

I opend the port 29814, but it doesn't help, even stopped the firewall, but also nothing...

Any good tips for this matter?

  @Tantie

Hey

This is a simple one, you are running the wrong version of AP Firmware for that Controller.

Omada controllers running SDN v3.x  can only use older firmware   NOT the latest 5.xxx firmwares as these are designed for SDN v5.xx controllers

This link here may help you     https://community.tp-link.com/en/business/forum/topic/264504

Your choice is either

1.  Downgrade the EAP firmware to a version supported on the v3.x controller (see link above)  -   I would NOT recommend this if honest

2.  Upgrade the controller to v4 or v5 but this will require a backup and restore onto the new controller.  It wont automatically update to v4 / v5 via the update wizard as it can break stuff if you are not prepared.  In your case this upgrade is recommended!      Backup the current config, install new v5 controller.. complete basic setup but don't adopt anything.. restore backup..

Dear @Tantie,

Sorry to hear that you have trouble after the firmware update, but @Philbert is right, the EAP firmware is not for your Controller v3.2.16.

In fact, the EAP245 firmware 5.0.5 Build 20220216 Rel. 61848 fully adapts the SDN Controller v5, only compatible with V4 or above. Normally, this firmware won't be pushed to the Controller v3 via cloud.

Did you download the new firmware from the official website and then upload the firmware for updating on your own?

If yes, have you noticed the release note in red color, or did you just ignore that part?
