ER605 Ports Won't Open
ER605 Ports Won't Open
Hi,. I' currently having issues forwarding ports. It was working properly, and then I tried adding another port to forward yesterday. That seems to have broken everything cause now none of the ports will open. I have tried removing all of the port forwarding rules and recreating them, but nothing has worked so far.

@Killer3p0 Have you checked your ER605's WAN IP address? Is that a public IP?
Another concern is your server IP addresses. If that servers are using Static IP, you will need to check the gateway number you set up, and make sure it is in the same subnet as the ER605 LAN.
On port Forwarding you also need to choose the Interace. Make sure you choose the correct WAN port you are using.

@Somnus It is a public IP. Port forwarding was working at one point. I'm also only using one of the WAN, and only one of the WAN\LAN. Everything quit working when I tried to add another port forwarding rule.
I saw a suggestion on Reddit last night to try and reinstall the firmware. After I did that and rebooted the router, one port forwarding rule is now working but the other 7 are not.

@devn3t sounds like y'all found a bug if 8 rules breaks the rest with the exception of the first rule. If you remove the 8th rule do the others work again? If not have you tried completely removing all rules and adding 7 back to see if they work again?

@RickJamesBish actually, it won't work after 1 port is open. I have port 32400 for Plex open which works. If I add another port...32400 still works...but the new port I want to open (in this case, for a game server I host in docker...port 7777) won't open. The port 32400 is on the same docker server as the one for my game. So both ports should work...but only the first one does.
No matter the # of ports I open, none but the first one work. I've tried to reboot. I've unadopted and readopted the device...nothing works. I'm looking at potentially ditching this router and goign with a home grown one using Opnsense.

@devn3t Have you tried making 7777 the only port forward in the list? In other works change the working 32400 to 7777 and see if that port opens. I know its not a solution, just doing it as a process or elimination. If it does not work as the only entry then the issue is elsewhere. If it works as the only entry, enter 32400 as a second entry. If 32400 fails as the second entry then we can say for sure that only entry #1 works.

Yes and it was a stupid one. The 7 ports are all part of the same system and it was this system I had behind the forwarded ports which wasn't responding to open port checks...though it's not in the documentation anywhere. So, while testing doesn't show that the ports are 'open' they actually are and it is forwarding. Once I went live with the system behind and the application started working and the ports were forwarding.
So, learned a lesson...some systems don't respond to port forward testing until you flip the light switch on.
