Looking for feedback on this configuration; should I get an OC200 or new router?
I have two EAP225 set up at opposite ends of my house. They each broadcast a 2.4ghz and 5ghz networks (separate SSIDs for each band but matching SSIDs for each AP) with manually selected channels to avoid overlap. Both AP are adopted by an old laptop running the Omada SDN. The laptop now is typically off and I only turn it on when I need to manage the network. Both AP wire back to a Netgear R6700v3 router. The R6700v3 handles all DHCP/NAT for the network. The R6700v3 also broadcasts a 2.4ghz network (manually set channel to not overlap) for all of my IoT devices.
This network is set up in my house and primarily is used for work from home (zoom, emails, browsing). Streaming/gaming is all done wired.
Few questions:
1) would I benefit from having a dedicated TpLink router instead of using the R6700 to do this?
2) would I benefit from getting an OC200 and having it constantly on to manage the AP... Does it provide automated/on the fly AP management for improve performance (channel selection, broadcast strength, client handoff)?
Thanks.
