Model: ER605 (TL-R605)
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.0 Build 20220114 Rel.76871

Good evening.  I'm trying to configure my stand alone router with an OpenVPN server, but I must be missing something.  I have two ISPs and I'm wanting the OpenVPN to only communicate out of the one I've got connected to WAN/LAN1 port.  It looks like I set up everything correctly, but it appears the router is not opening the port.  I've exported the .ovpn file and imported in into OpenVPN client on my phone, but I keep getting connection refused in the logs.  I did a UDP scan for port 11904 on my public IP and it states that it's closed.  I presume maybe I'm missing a setting somewhere else on the router, but I'm not sure where.  Obviously it's working for other people, so I expect it's user error.  Any suggestions?

  @Witchboard

I believe I had the same issue. It disappeared after I entered the actual IP address of the LAN interface in the Local Network field.

Hi  @Witchboard

Please check the WAN IP address of the WAN/LAN1, if it is a public IP?

The settings won't work if the tplink router is linked up to another modem router. You will need to open port on the Modem in that case.

Good evening. Apologies for the late response. I was out of town. Yes, the IP of WAN/LAN1 is a public IP.

Sorry for the confusion. You mean to put the LAN IP of the router as the local network IP?

Just gave it a try.  Port now reports as open.  Thank you sir!
