EAP 610 an EAP 620 HD POE Injector
Hi everyone
I am setting up new home network and i have Eap225, Eap610 and Eap620. For eap 610 and 620, i am going to install them remote areas and no power line near them. Also they are far away from my POE+ switch (TL-SG1016PE). I can set up CAT6 cables to the EAPs but power will be an issue. the question is both eap610 and eap620 power consuption around 13w, but they are supporting 802.3at. Can I use TL-POE150S injectors (supporting 802.3af) with Eap610 and Eap620? Or do i need TL-POE160S (802.3at)?

Dear @TurboOrdek
No, TL-POE150S injectors are not good for EAP620 HD/660 HD. Although they are not more than 14W they still cannot simple work with 802.3af PoE.
TL-POE160S is required.
For EAP620 HD v3, there is a passive PoE injector in the box, so you don't need to buy additional one.
But EAP660HD doesn't support passive PoE and no poe injector in the box.

How long is the run? PoE is typically good for ~50-60 meters with high quality cable. That is to say roughly half the distance of the 100 meter Ethernet standard. Though YMMV depending on which PoE power standard (and thus voltage) is used, the load on the switch, and termination resistance.
Better to pull an extension cord along with your Ethernet cable. Or, better yet, use a directional, outdoor Wifi AP solution aimed in the direction of desired coverage
There are various companies that make PoE extenders, too. Some even claim over 100 meters -- which I don't understand since what's the point of PoE if the data side of things isn't working.
