Model: EAP610-Outdoor
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.3

Hi,

just got the new EAP610 Outdoor.

But what I recognized is, that is uses a lot of RAM/Memory comparing to the other APs im using.

EAP610 Outdoor v1.0 = around 70-80% Memory

EAP660 HD v1.0 = around 35% Memory

EAP225 v3.0 = around 54% Memory

Is the new EAP610 just low on Memory? Or why is it more worse than the other EAPs?

Hi.

Hope to get a feedback from TP-Link... Why do the new APs have lower RAM/Memory than the older ones? Or again just a Firmware glitch?

  @Spryde

it seems like the new EAP6 is undersized, too little RAM and too little CPU, I follow this thread closely because I will have some new EAP but do not want anything that is undersized, so I hope Tp-Link comes with a statement on this.
Is it the same with EAP650 and EAP670-Outdoor?

Hi  @shberge

Yes. It looks like they are - but maybe also some firmware glitches? Nobody knows at the moment.

I can say, that the new EAP670 are going back, because they don't have RF Scan, for me their CPU spikes are too much and and and...

Will stay with EAP660 HD.

But I cannot understand why an old EAP225 Outdoor performs better within RAM/CPU than a new EAP610v1 Outdoor (The EAP610v1 Outdoor does have RF Scan capabilities)

Hope to get some feedback from TP Link as it's quite annoying when buying newer/more expensive stuff which doesn't perform as well as older stuff.

Yes we can hope Tp-Link comes with a statement, I would replace some EAP225-Outdoor but if the new ones are worse then there is no point.
Lack of chips may be one of the reasons why they are undersized, but then we should know this.

I also have EAP660 HD and some EAP620HDv1 that work pretty well so I will not replace them in the first place, I just hope there will be some firmware updates to these soon. I'm using PPSK and there is no official version yet.

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me the price of EAP610-Outdoor? I do not see it on Amazon. If it is cheap and stable, I don't care about the CPU/memory usage.

I have ordered two EAP610-Outdoor to replace my EAP225-O but how is ram and performance whit the newest firmware on EAP610-O?

Is there any other issue with this EAP?

No issues at all beside the lot of RAM usage comparing to other APs
