EAP245 v3 - Canada firmware 5.0.4 missing
I bought an EAP245 last week and noticed that the US version of this access point has firmware version 5.0.4 that resolves the Fragattacks vulnerability and fixes some significant bugs, but the Canadian version is still a release behind after 5 months.
When can we expect the Canadian version to be updated to firmware 5.0.4?

Dear @Rodenti
Different countries have different laws and rules. All EAP245 sold in Canada should be CA version.
Once our firmware has been approved, we will update it on the regional official website. It may take months.

@Hank21 it has already been over 5 months - is there an ETA on when the Canadian version will catch up to the US version?

Can you please inquire with the Eng team re the actual ETA for the Canada firmware?

Still no firmware update for the Canadian version. I really like this access point and had plans to buy additional units with an Omada controller, but with support like this I'm looking at switching to another access point line that is not TP Link.
I have had Linksys, D-Link, Netgear, and Asus networking products over the years and have never had this issue before with significantly delayed firmware updates for security issues.
As an IT influencer for my family and friends I will be advising them to avoid TP Link networking products based on the Canadian firmware support for your access points.

Thank you very much for your feedback.
We have given feedback to the relevant departments and are pushing the relevant departments to check and upload the corresponding firmware as soon as possible.
Thank you for your patience!

FWIW I found it trivial to reflash CA as US - use the tftp procedure, ensure your AP's have (US) on the label on the bottom.
