Accepted Add local DNS server to ER605
Please add a local DNS server, like dnsmasq, to the ER605. It's a bug for a business router that's running DHCP to not be able to resolve local host names.

I just picked up a ER7206 from Amazon. There is no local DNS server? Looks like I will be returning it & will never look at TP Link again!

I just wrote a 1 star review on Amazon...will change to 5 star IF the company gives us a roadmap and timeline.
I was happy with the router and price BUT the second I started to look to use names...I was shocked to find this FLAW and the poor company BOT-like responses on this long forum thread.
I am using this in my home network, but I am an IT professional and I bought this to set up a business environment to support best practices on my side projects. I expect professional forum communications.

The following information is not gonna be final. I am only providing you with an estimated timeline for the product. We and our dev team may alter the roadmap or timeline based on the priority of future projects.
This feature may come on Omada Controller V5.15 in 2024. Following firmware will adapt/support the local DNS server in standalone and controller modes.

I put omada aside... temporarily. I bought ruckus points, mini pc opnsense. I like everything at the moment. I do not know if I will return to Omada again. These are not just capricious requests, we have a network of hotels. Ruckus is already installed in one of them. not new, all the equipment costs half the price from Omada. While in we are thinking

Dont get me wrong, but opensense and ER605 are completely diffrent products and uses cases. If you need a Firewall you buy a Firewall hardware with much more capatibillities and performance, an ER605 is more like an VPN Router with features and a perimeter Firewall.
Please do not compare Omada to dedicatet firewalls, compare them to Ubiquiti oder Aruba Stuff.
