Using Tapo c200 with VIGI NVR1016H nvr
I have some tapo c200 cameras and understand from other threads that they should work with the Vigi nvr1016h nvr.
I have the following questions :
1. Can the Vigi nvr record footage from my tapo c200 cameras ?
2. Can you set the nvr to record from my tapo c200 cameras when motion is sensed ?
3. Can I view recorded footage and live view from my tapo cameras if the Vigi nvr is connected to my TV ?
I know both the Vigi nvr and my tapo cameras are Onvif compatible so just wondering whether it was worth buying the Vigi NVR and are there any limitations using my tapo cameras on this Vigi nvr ?
Thankyou.

Yes, you just need to add this camera to the NVR, and it wil meet your needs.

Yes, you can. And in this moment the TV is just as a monitor.
As far as restrictions are concerned, it is the functions supported by the ONVIF-based protocol that are supported.
Best Regards!

@busman12uk do you know how to connect Tapo Cameras to the VIGI software. When adding a device the VIGI system always assumes the username is "admin" but the Tapo Cameras have to have a minimum of 6 characters, and the username field cannot be changed in VIGI.

@busman12uk you can use zoneminder with c200, works on all OS, for windows only there are several other. I use zoneminder with radxa's rockpi4 (similar to rpi4) with a 2tb m2, it runs with 8 cameras, works wonderfull. You must be also aware that you can not use cloud storage and nvr at the same time with c200, as soon as you activate cloud storage that cam will be offline in your nvr, sd card however can record with nvr. You can use several different zoneminder servers and monitor record them across them all, zone minder is quite powerfull which can compete with commercial solutions.
Also, be carefull about ONVIF and c200, specifically for c200 it was stated that it supports it, but at the end nobody knows which devices it supports and I've not seen for now any profile from tp-link, ONVIF does not work with c200 and most if not all nvr soft/recorders. How do you know that it is ONVIF compatible, did you try it?

@DannyJ not sure about vigi, but I assume you need the stream of your cam, then yes, open tapo application on your phone, choose your tapo cam, go to its settings an there you will see device account for which you set username and password. From that point you have username and password for that device/cam.
Here are then ports:
Stream port is 554
ONVIF port is 2020
Stream URL RTSP 1080p: rtsp://CameraAccountUsername:CameraAccountPassword@IPAddressOfTapoCAM:554/stream1
Stream URL RTSP 360p: rtsp://CameraAccountUsername:CameraAccountPassword@IPAddressOfTapoCAM:554/stream2
More info about it should be here: https://www.tp-link.com/uk/support/faq/2680/ (or webarchived: https://web.archive.org/web/20211210045225/https://www.tp-link.com/uk/support/faq/2680/)
Hope that helps.

@busman12uk example of config for zoneminder, ONVIF is not working, I tried to write few templates but none works, tp-link has not provided any and since then I gave up on tapo and tp-link cams moving to another, or better said staying with old company. I guess for some this can be helpful:

I have been and done it !
I have purchased the VIGI NVR1016H.
I have connected all my Tapo C200 and Tapo C100 cameras and they all work fine with the NVR.
As reported earlier, about the `admin` username problem, The NVR found all my cameras on my network, all i had to do was to type in the username/password i had for each Tapo camera and bingo ! , i DID NOT have to change the username or password on the Tapo camera app itself.
The cameras are all set-up to record from motion, although i do have 2 older Foscam cameras which i have added to the NVR but the motion detection does not work with them - i can only get live view and continuous record from them unless anyone knows a way for motion detection to work with them on the NVR ?

@DannyJ it shows admin by default but you can change the username manually.
