Hey all.

I was hoping that someone could help us a bit since were not experts in this field.

Wifi Router: TP-link Archer AX1500

Number of apartments: 143

We are running an apartmenthotel with 143 apartments and theres a 1GB/s fiber coming in the building. All these years we have experienced internet issues in the building, internet speed and bad coverage being one of them. Building has a typical hotel internet solution with network switchers and so on.

Each room comes with ethernet port in the wall that was never been used before. Now we bought 5x TP-link Archer AX1500 Wifi routers and connected to the wall to test if the internet works this way and voila we have great internet speed and is very stable.

Before we buy the remaining 138 routers to set up in each apartment in the building - would this solution work in the same building to have 143 wifi routers connected to ethernet port in the wall and does TP-link have a software to manage/administrate 143 wifi routers? I know that it is kind of a "homemade" internet solution for a hotel, but what are the challenges for this kind of set-up or is it a completely dumm idea to go for this solution?

Hopefully someone can give a little advice.

Kind regards,

Mike

@Stockton1

Same as a regular router. EAP=access point. It wires up and use the ETH connection.

Some info about EAP mesh. Recommend read the User Guide of EAP.

As I known, tplink does have an omada sdn controller that allows centralized management of network devices, but it doesn't seem to be compatible with the Archer AX1500.

The model you are asking about seems to be home products.

One more comment: perhaps the EAP series products would be more appropriate for the scenario you are describing.

@Virgo

Thank you for your reply. Yes, Archer AX1500 is a home product.

Can EAP products be connected the same way directly via Ethernet port from wall? Or does it have to be run via some other device?
