Dear @Bebe1980,

Couple of other questions if you would:

Is there any progress on the Cloud Based Controller?

Is it possible for the Hotspot Operator to login via the cloud?

Does the Hotspot Operator login work?

The manual says:

For software controller

Visit the URL https://Omada Controller Host’s IP Address:8043/hotspot (for example:
https://192.168.0.174:8043/hotspot), and use the operator account to enter the hotspot manager

I created a test operator and tried a couple of times on mine but it kept taking me back to the admin login?

Welcome. I have not been informed of the estimated date for the Cloud-Based Controller yet.

At present, the Hotspot Operator can only login via Local Access, and ensure the controller is running.

When you try to log in, please visit the URL https://Omada Controller Host’s IP Address:8043/hotspot/login (for example: https://192.168.0.174:8043/hotspot/login).

Refer to the current latest UG: Omada SDN Software Controller 4.4 (windows&linux)_User Guide

@Fae

Yes - and when I login using, for example,  https://192.168.0.174:8043/hotspot/login as both you and the User Manual say I should...

All that happens is I get taken to the admin login screen - which accepts my admin username and password but not the Hotspot Operator username and password I created :(

A moan: it's very hard finding information about what you want:

Next time they do an Omada User Manual, it would be really nice to have a simple Table of Contents to cover the 400 pages or so it runs; it would make it far more readable and easier for people to use.

Also trying to search the forums here for posts with similar problems to mine is almost impossible...

e.g. I put in "Hotspot Operator" and I got 1525 results ... I read the opening text of the first two and neither of them had anything to do with Hotspot Operator they were just about setting up a Hotspot :(

Perhaps if the manual was more friendly and the forum provided more advanced search facilities I (and maybe others) might not have to start a new topic!!!

Well, I tried that with my Controller v4.4.6 (Windows), I can see the following login screen when visiting https://localhost:8043/hotspot/login.

And it gives me the hotspot manager page correctly when I put in the Hotspot Operator username and password.

However, if visiting the URL "https://localhost:8043/hotspot/" you mentioned before, I get the following admin login screen instead:

Are you using Controller v4.4.x? Did you try visiting "https://localhost:8043/hotspot/login" in the local subnet network?

There is a simple Table of Contents starting on Page 3 of the Omada User Manual. But I usually press "Ctrl & F" to search things via keywords.

If memory serves me right, you are the first person to ask about the "Hotspot Operator" in the community, and there is no such post with the keyword of "Hotspot Operator" in the subject, so it's hard to find the "Hotspot Operator" related topic as you want.

I totally agree that the manual should be more friendly and the forum should have more advanced search facilities, and this is something the TP-Link team would work on improving. If you have any further insights, welcome to start a new thread on the Forum - General Discussion, I'll be glad to forward it to the related department for further evaluation. Thank you for your valued feedback!
