i'm planning to purchase a TP-Link NVR and some C400HP and was wondering if the NVR can be mixed with cameras from the TAPO range i.e. the TAPO C310 units.

@axaxax Yes，Tapo camera can work with VIGI NVR, as they both support Onvif protocol.

VIGI System? we can add Tapo Camera to VIGI NVR directly, once we have create accout on Tapo App for this camera. On VIGI NVR, we can modify the username as the once you just created.

can you elaborate more on how to do this?

 

The Vigi system always assumes "admin" as the user name. The Tapo system requires usernames with minimum 6 characters, so admin can't be chosen.

But what if we do not hae the monitor system from where we can configure it. so the other option we have is to configure it from VIGII Security Manager. And from there , the manager does not accept as the username is set as "admin".

Have you found a way around this yet? I have 3x C320WS camera's I was hoping to use Vigi Security Manager with alongside a NVR device if needed?

 

I'm also playing around with the Vigi Security Manager software on a spare PC - same issue in that whilst I can see the IP of the device, I can't add the camera due to the need for an 'Admin' login for it.
