@Giggs11

You can do that, but if you want to use the mesh functionality you'll need an Omada controller as well - FAQ - Q3.

If you don't have Omada controller, the APs would be in standalone mode - see the difference - Q3.

Here's an example building mesh network with Omada EAP at home.

@terziyski

Wonderful details, thank you so much.

I believe i could use the "software Omada Controller" instead of a hardware version(OC200) right?

Another question would be on my switch and router, both my current switch and router are Dlink product, do I need to replace them with TPLink product as well?

If yes, what type of TPLink router is needed for the mesh functionality to work(must it have One Mesh functionality as well)?

Please advise.

Thanks again.

@Giggs11

Yes, you can use the controller software instead of the hardware version.

I believe that the mesh network will work with your existing equipment, just you won't be able to configure and manage your gateway(router) and switch with the controller.

See Omada SDN FAQ - Q2,Q5 and Q8.

OneMesh is different technology and that's not needed for building Omada EAP mesh network.
