Hello,

I am thinking about to install the Omada system at home. But I am not sure how to realise the telephone. I want to use DECT phones at home but the router doesn't have this functionality.

What's the best way to realise this?

Thanks in advance!

Cheers

Hey,

Is your DECT phone the VoIP phone? Or does it require telephone line/DSL line? If it is VoIP phone, you need to do some VLAN configuration on the switch. Here is an article for your reference:

https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/faq/2694/

If your phone requires telephone line/DSL line, you need a DSL modem router because omada gateway doesn't have DSL port.

My requirements from my provider:

Internet:

- WAN-Interface 1000/100base-t rj-45

- WAN-Interface: DHCP-Client, IPv6rd, IPv4/IPv6 dual stack

Telephone:

- SIPbased Voice-over-IP (RFC 3261)

- G.711 A-law/U-law codec

- DTMF transmission: RTP or In and RFC2833

Thanks for your support @Somnus

No problem. Did you read the article? I think you need to configure VLAN and QoS on the switch. But that FAQ is the guidance in standalone mode. I didn't find any guidance on controller.

I saw an option of voice network when creating a new profile, I guess you can select the VLAN of VoIP phones here and give it the highest priority like described in the standalone FAQ? I never tried this before. I think you can give it a try.
