I am experience terrible speeds with my Omada EAP225. When connected and doing an iperf test I get the following results:

Is there some magical setting that needs to be enabled on the controller or something? I have an OC200 controller

Hey

 

So the most common thing we see here is the following settings

 

Under SETTINGS > SITE   select advanced features and enable band steering

 

Then go to devices, select the EAP225 and set the 5ghz for 80mhz rather than auto

 

 

Also any description of your client devices, setup, networking etc would help.   Are you connecting to 2.4 or 5ghz?   it should move you 5ghz if you have band steering enabled and the device supports it.

 

What version of SDN are you also running?

Thanks, I checked and enabled those settings, cause at this point I have pretty much disabled every setting and tried re-enabling them one/one to see if something fixes the issue. Unfortunately, still same result. Even tried downgrading firmware, disconnecting all devices and creating a single new SSID, etc.

 

Could there be some bug or issue with the rate limiting? I went in and created a rate limit with up/down of 9000Mb just to test and see and applied it both to the client and ssid but no change. Out of curiosity I then set one to like 3Mb up/down and it did throttle to 3M. Something just seems to be limiting throughput to around that 15-20Mb mark and I don't know why. With all settings the same and just swapping out AP to a different vendor, no issues, but these AP's are for some reason throttled.

 

Client is about 10ft away line of site with AP, no obstruction. I have used both 2.4 and 5Ghz. Versions on AP's are 5.0.5 but I also downgraded one to 5.0.0 to see if it was a firmware thing. Have tested speed with android phone, linux laptop, and windows laptop, same result.

 

Running 3 SSID's, one 2.4/5, one just 2.4 and one just 5ghz.

 

For testing also created a totally separate WLAN group with just one SSID, 5ghz only and applied it. same result.

 

Controller Version: 4.3.5

Model:OC200 1.0

 

At this point I just have an Omada AP connected to a switch and also have a competitor AP, connected to same switch for comparison. Competitor AP is off

I will suggest you reset the EAP directly and do not enable any advanced features. Just separate 2.4G and 5G into two different SSIDs, and test each speed. And also unplug the competitor AP, only remain the EAP connected to the switch. Not sure if the competitor AP will affect the EAP or not.
