2.2.0? I think thats the firmware version that got pulled. It's no longer on the available firmware list.

  @Fae

In the meanwhile I purchased a ER605 v2 router, which indeed has IPv6 ACLs in the standalone mode... although when does it come to the SDN OC200 controller so I can control it all from there. cool

@Fae, @Hank21

Is there any update on the firmware for ER605 v1? I hope it is close to release or at least under development.

  @HomeGeek23

Consider yourself lucky if you get a response.

I don't think they are doing anything abt ER605v1 and the stable firmware that was released for ER605v2 few weeks ago also has a bug where the device keeps restarting by itself. Surprisingly the beta firmware for ER605v2 seems more stable than the final release.

Thinking of switching to PFsense/Opnsense. Enough of TP-link drama.

Hi All,

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

ER605 is EOL now: TP-Link End of Life Products

There will be security fixes yet we may not release any new features you see on the Omada Controller. Apology for this inconvenience.

  @Hank21

That is honestly disappointing. Why was it abandoned? More specifically the community was looking forward to the IPv6 firewall which was on the road map and was supposed to be implemented in a future release as promised by TP-Link (which for some reason got delayed and now abandoned).

Given the overwhelming community request for this feature can it not be taken under special consideration and implemented as a final release?

  @Hank21/ @Fae

Just want to have some clearity... the EOL (https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/faq/3562/) mentions the R605 version 1.0 and 1.6. Does this mean that the 2.0 version is still in support? The R605 v2 is also still listed on your products website (https://www.tp-link.com/us/business-networking/omada-sdn-router/tl-r605/).

So the question is, is only the R605 version 1.0 and 1.6 EOL and is the R605 version 2 still current?

So the question is, is only the R605 version 1.0 and 1.6 EOL and is the R605 version 2 still current?

1. This model is EOL now. Hank has explained what will happen to an EOL model.

2. In a recent email conversation I had with the dev and test team, there will be a new update to fix security issues and bugs. As far as I know, no new features were mentioned there.

3. ER605 V2 is not listed so it is not EOL. Still in production and providing firmware updates if you look at the Router section - pinned threads.

So, give you a little tip on how to determine if a model will be discontinued or not. If you find it support page shows a new model, the old model will soon stop production. And enter the EOL phase. So, ER7206 V2 is coming out and new firmware seems to be released, then the old model would stop production and its firmware would stop usually within a year.

But if this model hardware can still supply the new functions, there is a chance that within THAT 1 year, you can still have hope to get new features.

1. Because its hardware is limited and marked as EOL.

2. @Fae did not say which will support it. Based on the current situation, it seems to be the V2. IPv6 is getting more complete on the V2 and other new models. Some feedback on IPv6 ACL recently.

3. Refer to 1.. I have pointed out that the reason the ER605 V1 abandons its new features is the hardware limit. With multiple aspects of considerations, it remains the status quo.
