Hello,

my hw controller Omada OC200 announced me about new firmware for TL-R605 router. 

I want to update, but I'm worried. Will the update be performed correctly?

it was necessary to restart the router. The upgrade was successful.

I have a similar concern, as I can't seem to find the model I purchased on the TP-Link -> United States site. Is the TL-R605(UN) v1.6 the same thing as ER605(UN), which does not even have a TL in the name? https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/download/er605/#Firmware

that's fine, it's the same model just another name. I'm more afraid of firmware bugs.

Btw, the changelog for 1.1.1 says "5.2 Add support to customize the firewall parameters.". Can anybody give me a hint where to find it? There is no firewall section in settings...

Did you upgrade it online or by uploading the firmware file manually? Going to upgrade it as well, want to confirm more details. Thanks!

May I check the firmware version of your OC200? Did you upgrade the ER605 firmware from 1.1.0(beta) to 1.1.1?

 

Kind note that the firmware file will only be kept for 5 minutes. If we haven't started Upgrade within 5 minutes after the firmware (.bin file) is downloaded or uploaded successfully, we may receive the error "The upgrade file is invalid. Please select a correct file".

 

Perhaps you didn't upgrade it in time after the firmware file is ready?
