Model: ER605 (TL-R605)
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

VPN connection getting "PPP link control was terminated" after firmware update.

Worked before the update I pushed last night.

If I load the beta firmware that also fixes the hairpin nat - any possibility or reports of this issue and if it should fix it?

*** Update ***

It seems to have resolved itself with no rebooting or anything. Weird. I blame the ghosts of dialup past.

*** Update 2 ***

And it's back again. Seems somewhat random. This is with same model router at another site. Have tried every possible documented fix.

@Fae - Any suggestions? I can submit the running log - just DM me where to send if anyone wants to have a look.

Dear @EIBROG,

As I know, the 1.1.0 firmware doesn't change anything for the VPN part.

To figure out the issue, could you please draw me a detailed network topology and provide a backup of your config for further tests?

I have an l2tp/IPSec setup and when I upgraded all my users were deleted. After adding them back everything worked but I wasn’t expecting to have it remove the users after upgrading.

@Alex

Yeah that's an odd one - I had nothing like that happen.
