Dear @Firgal, @TheKaban, @LucianoR,

About AI Roaming, there is a simple note on the Controller page if you notice the option  next to it:

So, the AI Roaming is used to improve the roaming experience of the clients that support 802.11k/V.

After turning on AI-Roaming, EAP will periodically synchronize its own network load to the controller, and the controller will periodically deliver the corresponding topology and network load data to the EAPs that are neighbors. EAP can dynamically learn the roaming threshold for the associated client according to the current topology and network environment, and the client can get a better roaming experience in the current network environment.

@Firgal

It's under "Settings>Site>Advanced Features".

Would be great to know what "AI Roaming" actually does (and does it work with the 620/660) or only the new firmware for the 225/245/265 series...

@Alex

Thanks i found this :)

I think it is similar with Mesh AI Roaming: https://www.tp-link.com/us/mesh/ai-driven-mesh/

@Firgal Same. A link would be helpful... just telling it's enabled without telling what I'm getting is just silly.

AI Roaming is a new feature, it will require both the Controller and Device firmware to support.

The new firmware for 620/660 will be released shortly to support the new features like the 225/245 series do.

@Fae

When will EAP245 and EAP225-outdoor for Canada get these features?

https://www.tp-link.com/ca/support/download/eap225-outdoor/#Firmware

https://www.tp-link.com/ca/support/download/eap245/#Firmware

It has been almost than a month since 5.0.2 was released in US. Why does Canada only have 5.0.1 in 245, and only 5.0.0 in 225-outdoor? We are several firmware versions behind, and are missing features.

Sorry that I don't know when the official firmware for the Canada version will be released.

But I get the corresponding beta firmware for the Canada version, if you need it, here is the download link:

Update:

The official firmware for the Canada version (compatible with Controller v4.3.5) has been released.

EAP245(CA)_V3_5.0.3 Build 20210708

EAP225(CA)_V3_5.0.5 Build 20210618

EAP225-Outdoor(CA)_V1_5.0.5 Build 20210618

EAP265HD(CA)_V1_5.0.3 Build 20210618

Note: the official firmware above has added AI Roaming and Dynamic VLAN functions.

@Fae

Hi,

I have checked the TPLink Canada site and there is still no official firmware for the EAP245 that supports AI Roaming. It is almost 2022 - when are we going to have AI roaming on EAP245 in Canada?
