How do you manually authorize a client permanently or long term when using captive portal?  I am able to authorize the client for one session (until the device is powered off) by clicking the Authorize button next to the device in the Clients tab.  However, after the client is turned off, it no longer is authorized.  This is causing problems for customers who use devices like Chromecast.  The Chromecast is unable to authenticate via the captive portal, so they must be manually authenticated.  However, after they turn the device off, they are no longer authenticated.

What you could do is: 1. Select Hotspot as the Authentication type using Portal Authentication. 2. Create a voucher, using voucher manager, with a very long expiry date. 3. When the chromecast is connected, open the browser 4. The browser will redirect you to the log in voucher page - enter the voucher you created. That should solve the issue.

@pd383

Hi, you could set the client as "Authentication-Free Client" instead of manual Autentication or Vouchercode.

The setting can be made in Site - Authentication - Access Control.

@nutzich Totally forgot about that option. I think this is the best solution.
