EAP245 V3 not showing stats with OC200 controller version 3.2.14
Hi,
I recently adopted a EAP245 V3 to an existing site on my OC200 controller version 3.2.14 and it won't show any stats like network usages, or clients, etc. The existing EAP225 shows the stats.
I'm wondering if it's normal? is there any way I can get the stats to show? Maybe it's not really compatible with it?
By the way the AP works, just not showing what's going on with it.
Thanks

Hey
This is a common enough issue, basically the new 245 has come with firmware for the v4 controller, when ran on v3 it gives this error (no stats).
You have 2 options really..
1. Downgrade the firmware to support v3 - you may not be able to get the older firmware now if honest..
2. Upgrade the controller to v4 (also need to update the firmware on the other AP, check this is possible first!!)
I would go the v4 route personally, provided the other 225 can take the fimware for v4. The devices are still in support and v4 is now the standard SDN, running v3 is ok but its end of life so upgrading will keep it current for a while.
- To upgrade I would do it this way..
- Backup Setting on V3 controller
- Forget the APs (un-adopt)
- Log in Standalone on older AP and update its firmware to one that supports v4 (see screenshot below).
- Update the Controller to SDN v4
- Restore backup
- Re-Adopt the APs
- Consider upgrading the APs to Firmware 5.0 via the v4 SDN controller (it will likely prompt you)
Hope that helps
Phil

Thank you for the quick reply! Option 1 seems to be the only option if I do anything at the moment.
Upgrading to V4 means it changes to the "SDN thing" that is not compatible with my EAP225 V1 or V2 devices I believe. I just had this issue not long ago, had to downgrade my OC200.

Hey
Ah ok that answers the query then. If you have a V1 or V2 EAP 225 then your only option is to downgrade the firmware on the 245
That should sort the issue for you. I cant see the v3.x firmware still on the UK support site, may be different where you are located; but failing that logging a call with TP Link they may be able to send you the correct firmware.
