Model: EAP235-Wall
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.0.2 build 20200917

Hi,

I have two EAP235 wall plate and on both I can't get the POE OUT to work.

The EAP235 is connected to a POE injector IEEE 802.3at/af compliant max 30w.(Eminent EM4438) The EAP235 works fine but when I connect the other EAP235 to port three the second EAP doesn't power up. I swapped the POE injector for another one(TL-POE4824G), same result. I swapped the EAP to check if the problem persists on both EAP's. On both devices the POE OUT won't work.

I tried to the OC200 directly on the POE injector and it works. When I connect the OC200 to the POE OUT (port three) of the EAP the OC200 won't power up.

Is there any problem with those POE out ports on these EAP235 that anybody is aware of?

Thanks

Gilles

@gillekes

Hello,

you need a switch PoE+ 802.3at and also to activate PoE out on ETH3 under config of EAP235-wall.

Best Regards

@Emitplink

Thanks for your help.

Enabling the POE fixed the problem.

Important to know: POE enabling can not be done in the IOS Omada app, this setting is not available as far as i can tell.

I was able to do it in the Omada in a browser.

@gillekes

It is possible to do this via the Omada Controller.
Also I have the EAP235 Wall AP and running it through the OC200.
In the Advanced settings all the way down you'll notice:
"ETH3 PoE Out"
If you enabe this, it will work fine.

Hope this helps others.

Stokkie
