[Solution] EAP235-Wall EAP230-Wall: Wireless clients connect to SSID with VLAN can't get IP address
Hi Guys,
We find a VLAN issue of the EAP235-Wall. If we enable the VLAN in the wireless SSID and the VLAN in three downlink LAN ports in the same time, the wireless clients connect with the VLAN SSID can't get an IP address from the corresponding VLAN subnet and access the Internet.
The next official firmware will fix this issue and we have made a beta firmware for the temporary solution: EAP235-WALL_v1_20210209(Beta)
Regarding the above issue, firmware 3.0.0 Build 20210322 has fixed this issue.
Update on 23 July 2021:
We found that wireless clients connected to SSID with VLAN enabled may fail to obtain IP addresses under some circumstances(if the packets have QoS Tag). The R&D team has located the issue and it will be fixed in the subsequent firmware upgrade soon.
This issue applies to:
EAP235-Wall_V1_3.0.0 Build 20210322,
EAP230-Wall_V1_3.0.0 Build 20210322
Update on 19 October 2021:
The official firmware has been released to fix the SSID VLAN related issue, please visit the TP-Link official website for update,

Here is the latest firmware:
EAP235-Wall(US)_V1_3.1.0_Build 20210721
EAP235-Wall(EU)_V1_3.1.0_Build 20210721

Is it possible that this bug exists in the EAP245 firmware (5.0.0 Build 20200918 Rel. 61625) also? I've been trying to configure a network consisting of TL-R605, TL-SG2008P, and EAP245 in a home environment, when I enable VLANs one of my SSIDs become inaccessible.

I have the same problem with the EAP230-Wall(EU) v1.0 so it think it is a firmware bug in this firmware version

@jonas Hi Guys. I have the same issue. Enabling Vlan on the 3 LAN ports works find on an older EAP225Wall.
However, the EAP235 locks up all VLAN access for wireless connections when the LAN ports have vlan enabled.
We are currently running with the EAP225Wall, but need the Gig interface from the EAP235.
Any idea's when this will be fixed.

Tanks for your hint.
In our case the behavior doesn't change if one of the Ports is tagged with a vlan-id for wlan or not.
I just mentioned the port because the vlan tagging works on them without a problem, so the uplink should be fine.
Seams to be a problem with the wlan interfaces.
The Firmware 1.0.99 is not installable on our AP even right after factory reset the EAP doesn't accept the downgrade.
The firmware 3.1.0 shows the same behavior as the actual 3.0.0: Tagged packages are not correctly transmitted to the wlan clients, no matter if the rj45 are used or tagged or if the EAP is single or at omada.

It seems that the Beta firmware 3.1.0 doesn't work for your case.
For your case, I'd like to escalate to the TP-Link support team for further investigation.

Thank you, i will update my EAP230-WALL and will test is. regards, Edwin Guliker
The beta firmware was found to be wrong, which cannot fix the issue if there is QoS configured in the network.
I'd like to forward you to the TP-Link support team for further assistance.
