Model: EAP225-Outdoor
Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version: Latest

Hi folks,

I just bought the EAP 225 and I'm scratching my head as to the why the installation process is not working for.

Here are the steps I have taken so far.

Route 1

  • Installed the Omado iOS app on my iPhone
  • Powered up EAP 225 waited for the light to flash
  • located the SSID on my iPhone and attempt to log-in
  • Receive a message that the device is not connected to the internet

Route 2

  • Powered up EAP225
  • Via my macbook located the SSID and attempt to log on to the device via http://tplinkeap.net
  • same as before - Receive a message that the device is not connected to the internet

Route 3

Same as Route 2 except with LAN cable plugged from my mac to the device via the POE injector

I'm not an expert in network set up but finding this problem super frustrating.

I do hope someone can help with what could be the problem

@Eldridge

A quick update.

The instructions that came with the device are frustratingly different to the video instructions. I had to plug the EAP225 into my router to then configure the device.

I've added a diagram to explain what I am after

I am trying to connect my office studio which is approximately 10 meters away from my home where my router is. I would like the EAP225 to be able to pickup the mesh wifi in my home so that I can have a consistent internet connection.

My question is does the EAP 225 need to be connected to my router at all times to connect to the internet?

This would not be practical due to the location of the router in the home.

Any suggestions on what my best setup is?

I'm afraid yes. The EAP is just a wireless access point.

Why not keep the current setup with CPE210 and then hardwire the EAP225 to the CPE210 Client via cable to share the WiFi signal?
