DHCP server (TL-R605) not working anymore
Yesterday all of a sudden my DHCP server decided to stop working. I am running
Omada 4.2.8
and the following devices:
1x EAP225-Outdoor(EU) v1.0
2x EAP245(EU) v3.
1x TL-SG2210P v3.20
1x TL-R605 v1.0
All devices are running the latest version.
I have rebooted everything several times, reinstalled Omada, but no luck. I have tried searching for relevant logs, but apparently Omada does not have such logs? Wher are those? The only thing I have not tried is to hard reset the TL-R605. But doing a hard reset also flushes all possible logs on it.
The workaround I have created is building a separate DHCP server to serve my clients. But this DHCP server is very limited and thus making my other VLANS useless. Actually it is making a lot of the features of Omada useless.
How can we retrieve the DHCP logs for troubleshooting? Or how can I restore functionality?

I seem to have bricked mine upgrading to the ER605(UN)_V1.6_20210113 image. Can't communicate with it. I've tried a hard reset and still nada. Frustrated. Putting it down until tomorrow.

@Fae Many thanks. De-bricked and firmware update applied. Now all I need is the IPv6 update. Any idea when?

It has been released recently, see the download link below.

I had the same issue using 1.1.1 Firmware on a TL-R605 v1.0 with Firmware Version:1.1.1 Build 20210723 Rel.64608. There is a simple solution to solve it, just go to Omada online/local and execute a restore from previous backup. This takes 1-2 Minutes and the DHCP is up an running again.
I'm very disappointed about the poor quality of the Omada software.

I bought my er605 (hardware v1.0) 7 days ago and actually, its DHCP server doesn't work properly.
Tried with the original version initially and saw that I was having IP reservation problems.
Promptly I tried to update the latest version v1.1.1 (20210723) and the problems persisted.
I did a router reset, but I made all the IP reservations again and soon I started noticing that the same problems occurred.
also downgraded to v1.0.1 (20210113) and continued the same thing...
What worries me is that it is such a simple problem to see and even then the TP-Link staff cannot understand and correct it.
A tip, some equipment has more failures to obtain IP than others and this in my tests is more reproducible, when you start all the equipment at once (for example when the electricity goes out and comes back in a few minutes).
Before I had a TL-R470T+ that worked perfectly, but I replaced it only because of the 1Gb LAN ports....
If I get it back there... IP reservations work wonderfully.
I hope someone from TP-Link resolves to actually test this situation

Is your ER605 router working in Standalone mode or Controller mode?
Have you contacted the TP-Link support team already? If yes, could you please tell me your case number?
Here is a solution provided on the community before, you may check if it helps.
[Solution] Omada Gateway’s DHCP NOT Working After Upgrading to Firmware 1.1.1
If it doesn't help, I'd like to escalate your case to the TP-Link support team who could help you more efficiently.
Please feel free to let me know if I can be of any further assistance here.

Hi Fae, my er605 is on standalone mode.
No, I do not contact TP-Link support because it is so obvious and simple to do, that I do not believe in magical solutions.
I have already configured tons of routers in my professional life, so I know what I'm doing.
Remember my old TL-R470T+ (by the way have VERY similar frontend) does DHCP reservations pretty well.
If you look at reviews on net, you'll see that er605 is not going so well (amazon's review)
Maybe TP-link needs to assume this issue and fix it.... Do not look like soo complicated.
This issue is more reproducible when you power router and devices at the same time
Best regards
Ivan
