Model: ER605 (TL-R605)
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.0 Build 20200930 Rel.36519

Hi

Trying to use SNMP on my TL-R605 router to get some internet usage statistics, however it doesn't seem to be reporting quite correctly (or I'm looking at the wrong thing!)

Looking at the interface descriptions, I can't really tell which one is wan or lan, but MAC addresses suggests .9 is wan (veth1), and .11 is lan (eth0.1)

Looking at the in/outOctets seems like the obvious place to start, however these counts don't seem to change with internet use (ie downloading a 1gb test file does not increase count by 1gb!)

Looking at the same base OID (1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10.49153) on my SG2428P for the port which is connected to the R605 I can get more accurate measurements (ie download 1gb file, count increases by 1gb!)

Anyone know if I'm just looking at the wrong thing on the router, or are the counts not accurate at the moment?

Thanks

Is nobody else suffering at the hands of this duff firmware?

I've noted that the data transfer reported by the controller tends not to match up with what I expect to see. It's frustrating because I'm not confident I'm getting full use of my three WAN links, but am not able to debug much without accurate stats. I'm not sure how much of this is fundamental, and how much is some weird artifact of the 5-minute resolution of SDN's graphs.

@sam_r

v1.0.1 firmware for TL-R605 doesn't fix this.

I'd be curious if there has been any development on this. I have been trying to get the SNMP data to pull into HomeAssistant but nothing seems to really match up.

@cosmo0000

I'm not actually using the R605 right now, but it' still connected to my network.

I do see the interfaces via SNMP:

And I do get a bit of traffic on the "internal" one, too:

I can't tell you if the stats are correct. But in general, TP-Link sticks to the protocol and uses the right OIDs.
