Hi,

I often see quite intense traffic on my switch during night time (almost the opposite of my EAPs traffic activity graph). Now I'm wondering what's causing this but don't know where to look to find the device(s) causing it.

All of my wireless clients (the majority) can only use wireless so that rules them out. My desktop pc, printer and Playstation are completely turned off (not even in standby). The only remaining clients that are active during the night are my OC200, QNAP, Sonos speakers (only Playbar is wired, the rest is connected to it via Sonos' private wifi) and my solar inverter (which I expect to be completely inactive during the night :-) ). What I see is traffic up to 5,3 TB which looks a lot. At the same time the EAPs traffic is 112 MB.

Does anyone have a suggestion to help me find the cause? Or an explanation (maybe I'm making the wrong conclusions)?

Thanks.

Steven

@StevenB_BE

Hey

Seen this reported a few times by people using the OC200, its appears to be a bug.

I was getting it in SDN version 4.2.4 but it appears to have corrected itself (for me at least) in 4.2.8

Others say it happens after 6 days uptime

Pretty sure its a bug of some type

@Philbert

thanks for pointing out it has already been reported as a bug. My controller is at level 4.2.8 (the latest version) so if it's a bug it hasn't been corrected yet.

I also have noticed this.

Setup:

OC200 (4.2.8)

R605

SG2428P

EAP225x1

Massive spikes 10+tb in switch stats at random times of night and day. If i click on the device all the individual ports show the correct volumes of traffic.

Not sure how the OC200 gets its stats information but it seems to be broken. It would be interesting to see if this is an issue with the software controller or Cloud controller or even the OC300.
