OC200 vs OC300
Hi everyone
I'm looking to create a 'decent' network within my home. Currently just a mix match of devices.
I was toying between the Unifi stuff and Omada.
My mildly trained eye prefers the look of Omada, I don't know why, but it just feels the right move, though it was held back by most of the components being 'Coming Soon'. Now some seem to be starting to hit market.
I already have an outdoor AP that supports Omada so that can be brought into the eco too.
I am looking at a new router, POE switch and a couple of indoor AP's (probably 225's). Obviously you need a Controller to nit it all together.
Now the OC200 has been available for a bit and advertised as a Wifi Controller. I assumed this to mean it is only good to control AP's.
Now the OC300 has been (or is in the process of being) released and is advertised as full hardware controller. i.e. ties in the router and switch(es).
My question is (finally got there); Is this the case?
Can the OC200 only control the AP's and OC300 control switches / routers?
I've tried finding this info myself and some data looks like the OC200 can now do switches and routers too (has it been updated in the firmware? Maybe it could always do it>)
If both devices can run the full network and the main difference is the number of units that can be controlled, then the OC200 will suit my needs perfect and save me some money.
OK, that was many questions, but all the same thing really. It's just with them being sparkly new, there doesn't seem to be much info out there.
Thanks for your time.
