Model: TL-R600VPN
Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version: 4.0.3 Build 20190227 Rel.48206

Hi all,

We are having issue where we can't PING or remote to a PC directly connected to Port on TL-R600VPN.

[PC-A] <> [Internet] <> [ISP Router] <> [TL-R600VPN] <> [Access Point]

LAN IP : 192.168.100.1/24

DHCP Pool : 192.168.100.50 - 99

VPN IP Pool : 192.168.100.150-180

So hope above can give rough idea what we try to do, not really complicated I believe.

So we try to to setup VPN to connect to our office from outside. So VPN all went well, VPN connected successfully on [PC-A].

From [PC-A], we can ping [ISP Router], both WAN IP and LAN IP of [TL-R600VPN],[Access Point] and also a NAS connected directly behind [Access Point].

So there is another computer [PC-B], connected directly to one of the port on [TL-R600VPN] with fixed IP. I can confirmed the port is already set to be LAN port.

The problem is we are not able to Ping from [PC-A] to [PC-B] and vice versa. Also using diagnostic function, Ping from [TL-R600VPN] to VPN connected [PC-A] and wired connected [PC-B] also failed. We change [PC-B] to another Port on [TL-R600VPN], still same result.

All firewall has been checked on both PC. Firewall should not be an issue.

So we are unsure what's the issue. Is it port issue? Or are we making mistake with the setting?

Also the IP assigned to VPN connected [PC-A] is with subnet mask /32 and gateway 0.0.0.0. Is this normal for VPN?

Appreciate any help from the community. Thank you.

Dear @Js88,

All firewall has been checked on both PC. Firewall should not be an issue.

Did you disable the Firewall settings for checking? For Windows PC, be careful with the Public Network and Private Network.

Also the IP assigned to VPN connected [PC-A] is with subnet mask /32 and gateway 0.0.0.0. Is this normal for VPN?

Are you using L2TP Client-to-LAN VPN on the router? If so, I don't think it is a problem.

BTW, the current firmware version of your router is not up to date, try updating the firmware for checking.
