The switch is mainly used to expand the Ethernet ports of the router, no special setting required on the switch, you can connect with any ethernet ports for the Internet connection but just ensure you have direct Internet access from your Modem/router before the installation.

It's suggested to check the IP info obtained on your laptop when it's connected to the Modem/router for the internet connection.

In the connection of Modem/router ---- T1500 switch ---- laptop, check the IP info on the laptop again for troubleshooting.

To access the internet, the laptop should obtain an IP address, Default Gateway and DNS servers.

Besides, if you have two T1500 switches connected in your network, please ensure you have set a unique IP address on both switches to avoid IP conflict. For example, the Modem/router uses IP address 192.168.1.1/24, we can set the switch #1 with IP 192.168.1.2 and switch #2 with IP 192.168.1.3.
