Model: EAP225
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: EAP225(US)_V2_1.4.0 Build 180323

at my house I have 5 antennas.
3 eap 225 V2 ceiling antennas.
and 2 eap 225 outdoor antennas.
all are controlled with an OC200 controller in my basement and everything works really well.

yet, yesterday I tried to upgrade my oc200 from version OC200(UN)_V1_1.2.3 Build 20200430
 to version OC200(UN)_v1_1.7.0 Build 20200703
and everything worked fine.
I liked the new menu etc. Yet I noticed that the new OC200 version does no longer support the older V2 antennas.
so at the moment it seems I can no longer stay up to date with TPlink; and I find it a little bit to early to change out 3 perfectly working antennas for new ones.

so now my question is, will there be an update of either the OC200 or eap 225V2 so that both are again supported again?

regards, Tim

Not likely. See this FAQ about Omada SDN Controller in the Omada SDN subforum.

Note that SDN Controller introduces a new product line, it's not only a new firmware version for OC200.

@TimmieVL, not only for you. We also have EAP120 V1 and EAP225 V1 in the field and thus need to run an old controller as well as the new SDN controller (for new EAPs). For EAP120 we even have to run a third, even older controller version.

I think it's cultural mentality: Europeans won't be willing to upgrade to a new hardware version of the same model as long as the old one runs fine, especially if they are forced to b/c of no more firmware support for the old hardware.

@R1D2

Something like that not to forget upgrading after only 3 years of use is pretty fast.

( also its my home situation) 3 APs in my home. 1 in the toilet so that you can surf in a relaxed enviroment.

1 in the garage+ bedrooms, 1 in the livingroom

1 outdoor in the garden underneath  the carport.

And 1 on the other side of the garden in a dublex birdhouse with a hidden compartment....

Works great tough
