@SpeedX, region settings and test mode disappeared from Pharos CPE/WBS in more recent firmwares long time ago.

Hi,
Is your CPE510 coming with the EU version?
Due to the limits of the CE regulations, CPE 510(EU) is not allowed to change the country code, the region menu has been locked and concealed. Thus, we cannot find this option on the setting page.
In addition, even if there is a test mode option, we don't suggest to enable it, please note that working in Test mode may under the risk to violate the CE regulations.
Test mode is only used for test, we need to disable it after the test. Thus, we cannot use the device normally.

Yes, EU regulatory authorities demand this from vendors because too many people did abuse such settings which caused interferences with commercial and military services allocated to certain 5 GHz frequencies.
Recently, EU regulatory authorities even discussed whether vendors should be forced to cryptographically sign their firmwares to make it impossibe for users to replace the stock firmware by a third party firmware. Fortunately, this regulation has not come into force (yet).
But measurement vehicles are being used again to check whether people are complying with the legal requirements. Here you see such a car:

If they catch you violating the regulations, not only will you face heavy fines, but also the confiscation of all WiFi gear.
Too bad – it was the abuse of the frequency band by some people to whom we owe these tightened regulatory provisions in the EU affecting also CPE510 test mode.
