2.4ghz extremely slow
2.4ghz extremely slow
I am wondering if anyone else has the same 2.4ghz wifi network issue, It's extremely slow. 5ghz works fine
Speedtest 5ghz : 300 Mbps dwonload, 20 mbps upload
Speedtest 2.4ghz: .1 Mbps download, 2 Mbps upload
Latest firmware installed, different channels, I currently have only one 2.4ghz network, no interference with any other wifi network.
The same results with a EAP225.
Tired of trying everything I set up the original wireless router I had before buying this AP and the 2.4ghz network works way better.
Am I missing something ? Anyone can help me before I return this AP
Thanks in advance

@Hac I also have this problem even now, good thing that there are only few clients who use the 2.4GHz band, most of them are 5GHz which works just fine....

@Meow_Meow I haven't found a solution for this yet. I'm returning it on May 31st and looking for an alternative right now. Ubiquiti seems to be expensive and need the controller which makes it even more expensive.

Are you sure there is no filtering or rate limiting, since both your 225 and 245 does the same on the 2.4Ghz I'd be looking at any rate limits you have on a mac address

@Rod-IT Hi,
Completely sure. I Factory resseted both APs and installed latest firmware to confirm, and the speed is slow on 2.4Ghz only. If im under the AP, the speed is good but as soon as I got 10 ft apart the speed drops but not the signal.

@Hac You never mentioned if you are using the OC200, cloud controller or Omada controller of if these are standalone, but resetting them wont help if they are managed devices, the settings will be stored centrally and simply re-deployed to the APs when they return.
Hence why i asked

@Meow_Meow i actually used another CPE and bridge it with my EAP 225 Outdoor, currently using the 2.4GHz and 5GHz of that CPE...

@Hac - has this issue been resolved? I just ordered (Amazon)4 APs and the OC200 to install in a small office environment a week from today. It would be good to know if I need to select a different setup before the installation. Thanks...

I don't think this is a widespread issue.
I have two EAP225V3's, one EAP225-OD, and an OC-200. I've had this config both before and afterthe SDN update. My 2.4GHz (and 5.8GHz) work fine.
I generally see 30-70 Mbit/sec on 2.4 GHz and 200-400 Mbit/sec on 5.8GHz across all of my EAP's from my iPhone XSM handset.

@Yorel no. I ended up returning the APs and went with a single router.
