Using MR6400 as WAN with ER5120
Hi, My ER5120 (V2 hardware) has an ADSL service as the primary "WAN1" connection. I have purchased a MR6400 (V3 hardware) 4G modem/router that I would like to use as an alternative WAN service. How should the ER5120 and MR6400 be configured so that my 4g service becomes "WAN2" on the ER5120? thanks.

In my opinion, make your MR6400 as router mode. Then connect the LAN port of MR6400 to the WAN2 port of ER5120. WAN2 should be dynamic IP then it can get the IP from MR6400.

@Andone Thanks for the suggestion but that did not work. The ER5120 sees the MR6400 on its WAN port but cannot connect.

Firstly, you can try to connect your PC to the LAN port of MR6400, make sure your PC can get IP address and access the internet. This means that MR6400 already work as a router.
Then connect the WAN port of ER5120 to MR6400. Choose dynamic IP for WAN then the WAN port should get a ip address from MR6400. If it can get the IP address, I think it will work normally. But please note that ER5120 and MR6400 cannot use the same subnet for LAN. For example, if MR6400 LAN IP is 192.168.0.1, then you should change the LAN IP for ER5120, like changing to 172.10.10.1, otherwise, ER5120 cannot get the IP address.

@Andone Great - thanks Andone - that is working now! I had the MR6400's DHCP server disabled and static IP with same subnet. I reset and left it as default - now working well.
