Model: TL-R480T+
Hardware Version: V6
Firmware Version: 5.2.2

By going to Network → WAN → WAN1, there is 2 options that allow me to control bandwidth of that port:

  • Upstream Bandwidth (100mbps by default)
  • Downstream Bandwidth (100mbps by default)

Changing their values seems to do nothing with the bandwidth from LAN to WAN1. I have to use Network → Switch → Rate Control to limit the bandwith on port 1 of the switch, which is the WAN1 port.

So what's the point of WAN port bandwidth limitation settings?

Maybe you still need to go to Advance-> Traffic Control-> Bandwidth Control to make the function take effect.
