I was wondering if it is possible to have an ethernet switch connected to the ethernet port of a remote meshed AP to be used in a similar manner as wds/bridged APs.  Something like router-----EAP)))))EAP-----clients. I am unable to run a cable between the two needed points and would like to avoid having to "double up" on equipment by needing a separate dedicated bridge device.  My current setup involves a pair of old wireless n router/APs using WDS bridging and I'm looking to upgrade.

I have a test by using EAP225-Outdoor, let me tell you the result. 

When I build mesh network, the network is as the following: Internet ------- Router -------- EAP225-Outdoor ))  (( EAP225-Outdoor ------- PC.

In this network, the PC can access the internet successfully.

Note: In the topology, PC is connected to the network via an ethernet cable, so we cannot manage the PC on the Omada Controller. (We cannot manage the clients when they are connected to the network via an ethernet cable.)

if two EAPs were "bridged" and someone would use SSIDs with VLAN-IDs, would the Frames be (re)tagged on the LAN-Port of the second EAP?

@forrest thanks for your reply. I had a follow-up question: is it possible to have a switch on the receiving side of the EAP? Something like this but with multiple PCs/devices connected to the switch:

Internet ------- Router -------- EAP225-Outdoor ))  (( EAP225-Outdoor ------- Switch ------- PC

@nutzich Yes, the downlink Mesh node will retain all network information including vlans. Basic Layer 2 networking, passing all untagged and tagged traffic as it is received on the uplink node. So you can have a mesh downlink node hooked up to a managed switches and separate traffic at the switch.
