The first photo shows the switch hardware V4, while the second shows hardware V1/V2. Basically, they are the identical (share the same specifications), but V4 may have a new PCB or new circuits beside new name/packaging.
(No, I'm not from TP-Link, but hope it helps you anyway.)

Yes, one should always try to get the latest version if available at the store. Could have firmware improvements such as new layout etc.
