Re-install the server. Delete the /opt/tplink/OmadaController-3.2.1/data directory manually before installing it.

Make sure to set up a mail server, so that you can reset the password using the »Forgot password?« link in the future if you forget the password again.

@R1D2 Hi R1D2,

Trying to get Omada Controller 3.2.1 working on my Raspberry Pi Zero W. Got all the way to the successful instal, but upon starting the controller using

omadactl start -w -v

I get an error:

Error occurred during initialization of VM

Server VM is only supported on ARMv7+ VFP

Any idea how to fix?

Kind regards,

PeekaPi

Hello @PeekaPi,

edit /usr/bin/omadactl and change the line:

JAVA_OPTS="-server -Xms128m -Xmx1024m -XX:MaxHeapFreeRatio=60 -XX:MinHeapFreeRio=30 -XX:+HeapDumpOnOutOfMemoryError"

into:

JAVA_OPTS="-client -Xms128m -Xmx1024m -XX:MaxHeapFreeRatio=60 -XX:MinHeapFreeRio=30 -XX:+HeapDumpOnOutOfMemoryError"

Hope this helps.

@R1D2

Hello everyone,

Thank you very much for the work done with this package!

I would like to share with you a docker build of your .deb package installation using Balena on a Raspberry Pi 4.

More details can be found on my GitHub repository.

Don't hesitate to give feedback on this.

Enjoy :)

Although Java is supposed to be highly portable, the Omada controller was not built to support that. I can confirm that the Omada controller does not work with Raspbian Buster default OpenJDK 11. I don't know if the Desktop version comes with Oracle JDK installed, but the Lite definitely does not. Also, I can confirm that Omada Controller does work well with OpenJDK 8. I did not install Oracle JDK 8, as performance comparions indicates a better performance for OpenJDK 8: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/31153584/why-is-there-such-a-performance-difference-on-raspberry-pi-between-open-and-orac
