Firmware Version: 2.4

Have read loads of items about the cause of this. Latest one being security.. I don't use wep I use wep psk with an aes key.

Regardless of device.. laptop, pc, Samsung s7, iPhone.. all same speed.

Am beginning to think to have a defective device

Mms is on for 5g too which is another cause

In a word. HELP

If you use WEP PSK as encryption, all devices will be restricted to 54 Mbps. Set WPA2 PSK encryption to make use of 802.11n with higher WiFi speeds. What's more, WEP is vulnerable and deprecated. To make use of AES you will need WPA or WPA2 anyway. See this article for the different encryption schemes.
