Hello,

I want to build up a new Wifi using 6-7 TP Link APs with a Wifi Controller.

Now I need to decide between CAP and EAP.

I've tried to get information but there are still some questions.

1. Are both supporting DFS or will this feature be added in future firmware?

2. Which roaming standards are supported? As far as I've read, some EAP support 802.11 k/V, only one CAP 802.11k.

Are there Information about what features will be added? What about 802.11r?

Thanks and kind regards

Hi,

1. Now, EAP225-Outdoor product supports DFS channel. CAP products do not support DFS channels.

2. EAP225v3, EAP245v3, EAP225-Outdoor support 802.11 kv fast roaming function. And onlu CAP1200 support 802.11k. The EAP and CAP products do not support 11r now.

Seriously, see the data sheet and the manual of AC50/500 and compare with the data sheet and manual of EAP Controller. If you need functions the HW controller offers, use it. If not, consider use of the EAP Controller.
