Our office has a TP-Link Router that networks all computers and gives access to the Internet via a connected cable modem. Yesterday, suddenly everyone lost Internet. Looking at available wireless we found the name of the 2.4G connection had changed and did not work. A new 5G connection was available for the equipment that was compatible (some could not recognize the 5G). The cable company verified that they added a 5G channel, but theirs is NOT the new 5G in the router. In fact, they have no access to our inter-office network router.

  1. No one in our office made updates to the TP-Link router. Any idea how connection names and settings changes were made?
  2. How do we fix the 2.4G connection?

First of all, nothing can be changed automatically. I can believe something resets, but not changed. If it was reseted, then 5G will also reset. It is faster to call tp-link technical support. What was your SSID before and what is now? Is it default SSID? Just reset your router and configure again with new passwords.
