Hi all,

Sorry for putting this here but I simply can't get clarity. This is about cap300 indoor access point. I've made up my mind to buy 10 of them and need to prepare the complementaries. Please anyone who owns cap300 give me a hint.

Pre requisite:
PoE switches/injectors don't fit the requirements in my special case. I need to supply power to the DC jack.

What external power can be attached? Nothing found about this in the manual, have found different unofficial indications from 9VCD/0.6A to 12VDC/1.5A

i couldn't find any information at all about the plug size that fits into the unit's DC jack. Is this 5.5 x 2.5mm, 5.5 x 2.1mm or another size

Why don't you just use the 9V/0.6A power adapter which comes with the CAP300?

Thx R1D2 for this information. As said, I'm prepairing, didn't buy yet and there is no information that a power supply is being shipped together with cap300.

I'll follow up with the DC plug size as soon as I have an example here.

I see. On german website for CAP300 it is mentioned in the specs, but on the US/international website it is not.

However, the installation guide is the same for both websites, so I usually consult them, too: https://static.tp-link.com/2017/201712/20171205/7106507670_CAP300_V1_IG.pdf :)

Here an update with facts. Maybe there are others who are looking for uninterrupted power supply solutions when power over Ethernet is not an option.

The power jack of cap-300 suits with plug (male) 4,8mm x 1,7mm which is a rare, though standard dimension.
Power is 9V/0.6A
Connection scheme is plus on the internal connector which is normal

cap-300 outdoor is a totally different product with other power requirements, only PoE.

Just to complete about cap300 (internal *NOT* external) and static, non smart auto negotiated PoE voltage. Test have been done here measuring the voltage after sucessfull poe handshake was done and it shows 48 VDC. We've been able to run cap300 consequently for 48 hours with a cheap, non smart poe injector, endspan scheme and 48VDC.

This just in case you want to use PoE, need to use an extra injector and want to spend only extra USD 3 insted of USD 25. It works totally fine with a passive poe injector and 48 VDC.

Closing this thread with this words, Cheerio
