Two TP-Link MC210CS V2.23. What is the Minimum Fibre Cable Distance/Length between the two identical Gigabit Ethernet Media Convertors?
Would I need an attenuator, if testing with a 20 metre Duplex Lead, 9/125, SC, fibre cable with a path loss of <0.5dB?
If so, is there a recommended attenuator? How many dBs?
Is there an optical Laser Hazard, when in use?

In my opinion, you need not attenuator, I have connected two MC210 CS via 1meter fiber did the test, everything is ok.

Second that, I too use short fiber cables for tests with single-mode fiber modules. Attenuators are only needed if the bit error rate rises on short fiber cables when deployed for normal use.

Thank you all, I have tested the two MC210CS, with 20 metres of fibre cable,
without an attenuator, to test and all works good, as advertised.

My FC311B-2 is dead after a while with a 50 meters cable... Maybe FC311A-2 is faulty? Already lost two FC311B-2. I never expected this....
