C111 won’t reconnect to the network
I repositioned a C111 camera to another room, plugged it in and it connected to the network right away. I moved it to another location just a few feet away and it won't connect to the network, every time I try I ger the same message unsecured network. I've gone through every troubleshooting procedure I could; nothing. I also moved it around to different rooms, nothing. Any ideas of what I'm missing?

Hi @FE1011
What is the firmware version of your Tapo C111?
Where are you running into the unsecured network message? Is it appearing in the Tapo app without being prompted, or when attempting to connect the camera to your network?

I don't know other than I frequently look for updates. I get the message when I attempt to connect the camera to the network. I had moved the camera to a new location with no problems but 15 minutes later when I repositioned it about 6 ft from where it was is when the problem started. Prior to moving it around, it had been in another room for over a year.
The interesting thing is, I picked up a new camera just to see if the problem would affect the new camera, it did. I got the same message.

Thanks for the info. I'm definitely intrigued by the fact that you were able to replicate the behavior with a second camera.
Just to get a bit more context, what is the make and model of your router? And are any other devices indicating signal connectivity issues at the same location besides the cameras?

I come from an aviation background both in maintenance and in the cockpit as a Professional Flight Engineer. In the cockpit I sat behind the Pilots at a large systems panel. I operated and monitored the systems on the airplane. Since instruments can have several inputs. If you have an instrument with a faulty indication, the first step in troubleshooting is swap out the instrument with one that you know is good. If the instrument reads the same, then you know the instrument you pulled is good and not the problem. From that point on you work your way through the system Next you find culprit that's sending useless information.
Basically that's what I did. I picked up a new camera, put it in the same place, plugged in to the same outlet....
When I tried to join the network I kept getting "unsecured network". That was the end of my troubleshooting. At this point I don't suspect the camera.
I have Netgear ORBI RBE771. Because I have a large concrete block home I added extra satellites and spread them out around the house to cover all areas. This camera is about 12 ft from a satellite. I did a speed test using the speed test which is fine. From here I'm out of airspeed and ideas
