Model: Tapo C110
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Just got the Tapo C110 and updated the software as part of the process.

1. I can't seem to find how to define when to record (e.g., human motion).

2. Recording should stop when no (e.g, human) motion is detected and start again when there is (e.g, human) motion.

3. I can't figure out how to delete clips on the SD card either

    a. One at a time

    b. Multiple selections at one time

    c. All

Would appreciate answers.

Thank you.

1. I can't seem to find how to define when to record (e.g., human motion).

A.  Tap on the camera to get its live view page.  > Tap on the setting icon (upper right side)  > Tap on Detection.

2. Recording should stop when no (e.g., human) motion is detected and start again when there is (e.g., human) motion.

A.  Wired cameras, especially with a MicroSD inserted are 24/7 recording.  They will create notifications and callouts when a detection is triggered. I want to say the retigger time is 10 seconds

3. I can't figure out how to delete clips on the SD card either

A.  With SD recordings they are not clips but callouts from a 24/7 timeline. This is because the camera is essentially recording at all times.  What you see as clips are just call outs when there is a detection.  These callouts can be downloaded, but the only way to delete the recording is to reformat the memory card.  Otherwise the timeline will be overwritten as space is needed on the SD card.  Removing the oldest of the time line first.

  @Carl

Thank you.

Disappointed that I cannot delete videos with the app that are on the disk. Curiously, as I had tried a few cameras of other brands, the app found those in the disk and after "downloading" them I was able to delete them from my phone and from appearing in the app. No matter how many times I download the ones taken by this camera and delete them, they won't go away and continue to show in the app. Very strange, annoying, and frustrating.

Is there any setting that must be turned on to ensure overwriting of old recordings?

  @Carl

Where are the complete instructions for formatting the SD card?  I couldn't find this in the user manual.  Can the formatting be done through the app?

Never mind, I found the answer in the Tapo App User Guide rather than the camera user guide.
