I had to reset my router. Now HS200 wall switch is unreachable. Is there a way to reset the wall switch so I can connect it back to the wifi?. It dose not have a reset button on it.

Why do you have to reset the hs200 light switch when you lose power or reset your wireless access point/router?  I've had problems with this light switch losing wireless access after power outages and having to manually reset them.  However, all of my tp-link (Kasa) dimmer switches don't have this problem...they automatically re-acquire wireless after a power outage.   I have over 10 of the hs200 light switches installed and they all behave the same way.

is there a wireless config that would prevent this from happening?  Any recommendations?  Are there any plans to fix this problem in a upcoming software release.

thanks!

  @EJas

That is a good question. I don't know. You should post this as a new question in this forum.

Hello  @EJas

If kasa device does not reconnect to wifi after router reboot or power outage, ere are some tips you could give it a try .

  • Please confirm kasa device Signal strength  is strong as Case 1 , Step 3:
  • Confirm router internet has come back after reboot or power outage, make sure other devices have internet from router
  • reserve an IP address smart device on the router management page

If issue persist, pelase start a new thread with case details here

1. Model of router (better notes firmware of router)

Is it a Mesh  network, or router + extender

2. How about the LED status on Kasa smart device after router internet restoration, is it Flashing/Solid Green, or Red?

how long router will take for router  to reboot and internet restoration, e.g.3 mins.

3. After router reboot/ power outage and internet is back,

Can you control smart device in Kasa APP locally( when phone connected to home WiFi network )?

Can you control smart device in Kasa APP remotely (when phone is LTE mobile data or non- local network )?

4.Mac address of smart devices
