3 way Dimmer switch?
Does TP-Link have any plans in the near future to release a 3-way dimmer switch? I have the HS200 and HS220. I would love it if the HS220 had the 3Way capability.

@Aerich Wait, what? I thought that travelers were just that, travelers, they're not hooked up to anything besides the two switches, simply wires going between two switches, and as long as you're consistent in their use on both switches, it shouldn't make any difference how they're hooked up, swapping them on both switches shouldn't make any difference.

Agreed. It's not a great design. The switches aren't really 3-way at all. That's why it's called a KS230 "kit" and you can't use an existing 3-way mechanical switch in the circuit. It's also why several reviewers have complained that it's deceptive advertising on Amazon to claim that the kit is only $25 per switch when they must be used together as a main and remote slave.

Hello Everyone.
I have been in contact with the engineering team. Unfortunetly the Beta FW that was orginally metioned to and offered by me last week that would address the LED on the satillite unit while off. I and the engineer that first mentioned it to me were told by the software group that the Beta FW is not suitable for the KS230. This is likely due to the concerns that were addressed on this product's launch. I appologize for that inconvience as i was simply re-itterating what was intially told to me.
When I have more information I will gladly share it with you all.

@Connu I just purchased what I thought was a 2-pack of the KITS on Amazon - that had sure better be a pack of TWO complete kits when they show up today.
I was a Beta Tester and actually very happy with the product once they fixed the initial issues; but there is NO WAY I would pay $50 for ONE switch (kit/set).
If it's ONE kit only, it will be going back along with some scathing feedback.
I could do an HS200 and an HS220 for $28 (for both together!) and link them through Smart Control to do the exact same thing.
Update - it arrived today and is indeed a SINGLE Kit
I would not go so far as to say that is deliberately deceptive, but the Amazon listing should definitely be addressed - it very much reads that this is a 2-pack and as @connu points out, it clearly stated $25 per item, which reinforces the perception that it is indeed two kits.

@Carl - is there anywhere to actually buy this that doesn't cost $65+? That is crazy for one fixture. There are only three sellers on Amazon right now, and they are listed for $66, $99, $135... I would love to purchase one of these now that the kinks are mostly worked out, but not at that price. Amazon is currently not a listed seller (at least that I can see).

Right now yes it is only sold through Amazon. Right now it is out of stock, only unauthorized 3rd parties are selling the product. Please do not buy from them. They are not authorized nor do the products have warranties as they are 2nd hand. For this product it should say ship and sold by Amazon.

I recently purchased two KS230 kits from Amazon last week. I spent hours trying to get them to work. In the first kit, the main switch doesn't broadcast a signal to my phone to pick up. I tried to reset, restart, disconnect, reconnect everything. The circular light showed up on the screen and the wifi light flashes orange/green, but the Kasa app can't find the signal. I've installed over 30 HS200/210/220 switches combined, so this is usually a walk in the park for me. I thought maybe there was some wiring issue with the satellite switch, so I disconnected it and was still not able to pick up a signal from the main switch. Is it safe to assume a signal would be broadcasted regardless of whether the satellite unit was installed or installed incorrectly?
After that long ordeal, I tried the second switch but neither the circular light nor the wifi lights came on (installed just the main switch). I checked and doublechecked my connections. I eventually disconnected and used voltmeter the results are obvious: this is a lemon, DOA.
I checked the main switch from the first kit with a voltmeter (with it disconnected) and everything seems normal...except the fact that it doesn't broadcast a signal for the app to pick up.
After hours of frustration and determining that I not only got 1 but 2 lemons, I gave up and reinstalled my HS210, which still works perfectly.
This is the first time I've had to spend hours trying to get a Kasa smart switch installed unsuccessfully. I wanted to give it another chance and get two replacements, but it looks like it's OOS on Amazon.

@Carl Are they out of stock to minimize how many hardware release one switches are out in the field in anticipation that release 2 will be out soon?

The frist one with the blinking orange/green wifi light is likely one of the concerns that is being investigated right now. That is if it successfuly setup intially. That does not yet have a fix but i will update this thread when it does.
As for the one that is DOA. While it is rare it can happen. Unfortuntely we are also out of stock we anticpate more to be recieved in the end of december but how many will be available or an exact date I can't say.

Nope, its due to pandameic supply concerns. We have product waiting to be offload but dues to the tie up in the ports we are unforntunely out of stock on a few items.
