Starting in 2025, we hope to maintain this list more frequently and provide a lasting resource for you to see some of the key firmware updates delivered throughout the year to your devices.
As a reminder, this is a project from our community team and requires us to review each firmware update – please consider this when asking for updates and confirming compatibility – the most accurate and official notes will always be on your device’s support page – we may be able to reach out for compatibility, but it is not often readily available.

Deco W4500 v1.6 - 1.1.7: Introduced HomeShield Protection Kit with Advanced Parental Controls and Additional Security Features; Fixed issue where satellite units may show as "offline" in Deco APP if there are lots of Tapo devices in the network. Note: HomeShield Parental Controls is an enhanced version of the original service, adding additional free features such as more comprehensive dedicated usage statistics reports and a security scan of the router. However, with this update, features such as time limits and weekday and weekend bedtimes require a subscription. If you prefer using the existing features, please feel free to remain on the current firmware (version 1.0.6 and below).
